Location
Cliff House is on West View, a quiet lane past the sandy and rocky beaches of Trevone, with far reaching views out over the Atlantic. The house is located just 30yds from Rocky Beach and 100yds from Sandy Beach. There is a large, gated parking bay in front of the house that can accommodate two to three cars.
Trevone is a delightful village with two beaches, a general store, beach car parks, a pub and a surf store. The main sandy beach is a beautiful cove which is life guarded (and dog prohibited) during the summer months. Around the bay is Rocky Beach, perfect for rock pooling, shell collecting and also featuring a natural swimming pool. Surfing and body boarding are very popular in Trevone and nearby Harlyn Bay. There are many local surf schools that teach all age groups. A further 20 minutes south towards Newquay, Watergate Bay provides the Extreme Academy where kite surfing as well as competitive surfing are all the rage.
Activities
Trevone Bay is less than 2 miles from Padstow and has two beautiful beaches - one large, sheltered sandy beach and another slightly rockier one. Trevone has a great community all year round with local farm shop, cafe and surf store where you can buy and hire surfboards and wetsuits.
The main sandy beach is ideal for surfing, swimming and sandcastle building with the added security of lifeguard cover during the summer months (May to September). The rocky beach is perfect for rock pooling, crabbing and collecting shells and at low tide , a natural swimming pool appears.
Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the cliffs which surround Trevone provide fantastic walks which lead to Padstow in one directions , and to Harlyn Bay, Trevone Head and beyond in the other. Trevone Bay is a wonderful holiday destination with lots to do all year round for all age ranges.
Trevone is at the heart of Cornwall’s gastronomic north shore with a plethora of restaurants, pubs and cafes within a short distance. Visitors are spoilt for choice for places to eat in nearby Padstow with Rick Steins seafood restaurant , St Petroc’s bistro, Paul Ainsworth at No 6 and Prawn on the Lawn being some of the highlights . The well renowned Cornish Arms is a few minutes away in the village of St Merryn.
